The Original Swiss Army Knife

A world famous multipurpose tool

Every Swiss soldier is indeed equipped with a basic version of a Swiss army knife with one knife blade, a 6 mm (1/4 inch) screwdriver combined with a bottle opener, a can opener combined with a 3 mm (1/8 inch) screwdriver and an awl.

According to security instructions applied by all major airlines, Swiss Army Knives are considered as hazardous items that may not be carried into cabins. Any attempt to do so will result in confiscation. Though a Swiss Army knife is indeed a very useful tool for travelers you better place it in your suitcase instead of in the hand luggage.

The original Swiss Army Knife is manufactured by Victorinox, a company located in Ibach, canton Schwyz, central Switzerland. More advanced knives are produced for civil use only.
